During his visit to Jharkhand on March 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered scathing remarks against the ruling JMM-Congress alliance in Dhanbad, accusing it of corruption and dynastic governance. Modi asserted that since the formation of the 'corrupt, dynastic government,' the state's condition has worsened, deriding the JMM's acronym as 'jam kar ke khao.' He further criticized the alliance for allegedly fostering extortion and infiltration due to appeasement, accusing its leaders of prioritizing personal enrichment over public welfare.
Modi's comments follow the recent arrest of JMM leader and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case. Soren's resignation paved the way for Champai Soren to assume leadership of the state. The Prime Minister also lambasted the INDI alliance, branding it as anti-development and anti-people, particularly condemning its stance on ration distribution. Asserting BJP's commitment to combating corruption in Jharkhand, Modi inaugurated multiple development projects worth Rs 35,700 crore in Sindri, Dhanbad, spanning sectors such as fertilizers, rail, power, and coal.
